International Pillow Fight Day, Saturday Night Shakedown, and How to Naturally Dye Easter Eggs: Things to Do This Weekend in DC (April 6-8)
Spring is in the air. We don’t know about you, but April has really snuck up on us. Easter is this Sunday, and we are so excited. We hope you are enjoying the nice weather, heading to farmers markets, and attending fun events at the National Cherry Blossom Festival. This weekend will be full of Easter activities, family gatherings, and of course, great food. We hope everyone has a wonderful holiday weekend.
Here are some additional weekend suggestions in DC for you to check out:
Enjoy the $10 open bar at Town Tavern’s Saturday Night Shakedown
All-you-can-drink for $10? It doesn’t get much better than that. Town Tavern is hosting Saturday Night Shakedown tomorrow night from 8pm-10pm. RSVP through Womply by 11:59pm tonight to get the $10 open bar special (which includes all domestic beer bottles and mixed rails). Grab some friends and enjoy yourself. Don’t forget that enrolling in Town Tavern’s Loyalty Cloud also earns you additional insider rewards!
Participate in International Pillow Fight Day 2012
Gather up your pillows, it’s International Pillow Fight Day this weekend. See how good your reflexes are when pillows come flying at your left and right, get ready to smack strangers with your own pillow (in a friendly manner, of course), and just enjoy this flash mob full of fluff. The event takes place at the National Mall (near the Smithsonian Castle) on Saturday, April 7, at 1:30pm sharp. There will be a 15 minute free-for-all, and then other pillow-based games will continue at Dupont Circle around 3pm. For more information, click here.
Try dying your Easter eggs naturally
Ready to dye some Easter eggs? This year, we recommend dyeing them naturally. Purple cabbage, red and yellow onion skins, red tea bags, and beets are just some examples of natural ingredients that will create beautifully colored eggs. Visit TheKitchn for more details and step-by-step instructions.
Have a great weekend!
