We’ve got a lot of things going on this weekend! This year, Cinco de Mayo and the Kentucky Derby fall on the very same day so it’s going to be tough to choose what activities to do on Saturday. Whether your choice of drink is a Margarita, a mint julep, or neither, there are plenty of options for the weekend. We’ve also included an alternative event that has nothing to do with Cinco de Mayo or the Kentucky Derby. We hope you find something to look forward to this weekend!

Here are our suggestions:

Join H Street Country Club in celebrating Cinco de Mayo

We mentioned earlier this week that H Street Country Club is having a festive event filled with (non-rooster) cock fighting and drink specials. The event is free but H Street Country Club will be collecting donations for the Washington Humane Society. For more details about the event, click here. Don’t forget to sign up for Womply to earn rewards for your visits to H Street Country Club!

Head to The Derby Day Party at the St. Regis

Watch the race while enjoying a mint julep, bacon-rye Bloody Mary, or a ginger Old Fashioned. The last two cocktails were created specifically for this event by the the wine director Brent Knoll. The event starts at 3pm tomorrow, and there will be prizes based on categories such as “best hat” and “predicting the winning horse”.

Taste some great wines at Wine Riot

Wine Riot is back in DC this weekend. The event will be held at Daughters of the Revolution Constitution Hall. You will also be able to choose between an afternoon tasting session from 1-5PM or an evening session from 7-11PM. There will be over 250 wines to sample at this event. For tickets, click here.
